How Sleeptic Works

Sleeptic has many benefits, such as helping you ensure you get a sufficient amount of sleep each night, analyzing how much time you spend in each stage of sleep, and even making you aware of potential sleep issues like snoring.

In order to calculate sleep quality, Sleeptic takes into account body motions during sleep, as registered by the device's accelerometer , and also the noise level as recorded by the device's microphone.

Sleep tracking uses your device’s sensors to measure how much you move during the night.

Accelerometer

Accelerometer measures the magnitude of your sleep movement by a tiny electromechanic device that is present in every smartphone. The phone has to be in bed with you in order to transfer your motion to the accelerometer.Accelerometer is the default sensor and works on every phone.

Noise

Sleeptic use microphone to capture noise from the room or your body.Sleeptic use sound analysis to measure your respiration in order to detect any snoring or ambient noise. Sleeptic record your snoring so you can assess whether it was snoring that may be indicative of a more serios sleep disorder or ambient noise to help you assess the suitability of your bedroom for sleep.

Sleeptic will work just fine if you place it correctly on your bed. No special calibration is required. We recommend to keep to phone near your body - range is around 0.5 meter. To obtain best results while tracking with sonar, keep the phone on your bedside table. The range of the sonar is 1 meter. If you're seeing more "awake" time than expected or sounds detected, you can also try moving your device a little bit further from your body.

You can access your daily statistics at any time on the statistics screen.(on near to date title there is small calendar icon. you can tap on it to select custom dates).
